The difference between average and premium activewear often comes down to small sewing details that are invisible to the untrained eye but felt by the wearer.
Stitch Density
Premium activewear typically uses higher stitch density (more stitches per inch). This creates smoother, more flexible seams that lay flat and resist separation.
Low Density (8-10 SPI)
Acceptable for non-stress areas but may appear coarse.
High Density (12-14 SPI)
Creates smooth, professional seams ideal for visible areas and stress points.
Seam Matching
Pattern matching at seams is a hallmark of premium construction. Stripes, color blocking and texture patterns should align perfectly across seam lines.
Thread Ends
Loose thread ends are a sign of rushed production. Premium garments have all threads trimmed cleanly and secured.
