Key Anatomy of Yoga Leggings

Waistband

The waistband provides support and coverage. Common styles include high-waist, mid-rise and fold-over.

Rise

The distance from the crotch seam to the top of the waistband. Rise affects comfort and coverage during movement.

Hip

Measured at the fullest point of the hip. This measurement is critical for fit and comfort.

Crotch Depth

The vertical distance from the waistband to the crotch seam. Affects how the waistband sits on the body.

Gusset

A diamond or triangular panel inserted at the crotch to improve fit and reduce seam stress during movement.

Thigh

Measured at the fullest part of the thigh. Important for compression and freedom of movement.

Inseam

The length from the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg. Common inseams: 21" (cropped), 25" (7/8), 28" (full length).

Leg Opening

The circumference at the bottom of the leg. Affects how the legging sits at the ankle.
